From One Veteran to Another

Ricky served in the U.S. Army. He knows what it means to earn your benefits, and he knows how often veterans get incomplete Medicare advice that quietly costs them.

VA coverage is valuable, but it only works inside the VA system. Skipping Part B without understanding the tradeoff can mean lifelong penalties and no coverage at the community doctors and hospitals closest to home.

Ricky helps veterans get the whole picture before deciding anything.

  • How VA priority groups affect your Medicare decision
  • Keeping TRICARE for Life active by enrolling in Part B on time
  • Using VA and Medicare together so you are covered everywhere

Why This Matters

Honest Answers to Common Questions

Do I have to pay you anything?

No. Ricky is paid by the insurance carriers when you enroll, and your premium is the same whether you use an advisor or not. The education, the comparison, and the annual reviews cost you nothing.

When can I enroll, and what if I miss it?

Your Initial Enrollment Period is seven months long: the three months before your 65th birthday month, your birthday month, and the three months after. Miss it without other qualifying coverage and you can face late penalties that last as long as you have Medicare.

Advantage or Supplement, which is better?

It depends, honestly. Advantage plans usually cost less each month and bundle extras, but use networks. Supplements cost more each month but let you see any doctor who accepts Medicare with very predictable bills. Ricky lays out both against your doctors, prescriptions, and budget so the right answer becomes obvious.

Will my doctors still be covered?

That is one of the first things Ricky checks. Before recommending any plan, he verifies your doctors, your hospital, and your pharmacy against that plan's network.

What if I have VA benefits?

VA coverage works inside the VA system. Medicare covers you everywhere else. Many veterans benefit from having both, and the Part B decision deserves real thought because skipping it can mean permanent penalties. Ricky walks veterans through this every week.

What if I am still working at 65?

If you have creditable employer coverage, you may be able to delay parts of Medicare without penalty. The rules depend on the size of your employer. This is one of the most common places people get expensive advice, so ask before you decide.

Can I change my plan later?

Yes, during set windows. Annual Enrollment runs October 15 to December 7 each year, and some situations qualify for Special Enrollment Periods. Ricky reviews your plan every year so changes happen when they help you.

What happens on a free consultation?

A relaxed conversation, usually about 30 minutes. Ricky asks about your doctors, prescriptions, budget, and timeline, explains your options in plain English, and answers everything you ask. No pressure to enroll, ever. Many people leave the first call with homework and peace of mind, not a contract.
